We are delighted to introduce our new General Manager, Katie Ambrose.

Katie comes to OBS from a varied career across arts management, retail and finance. Katie has previously worked for the Cambridge University Musical Society and the Faculty of Music Performance team at the University of Cambridge, managing their ensembles and concerts. Most recently, she has been working as part of the finance team at Jesus College, Cambridge.

As well as working at OBS, Katie is in the process of completing a doctorate in Music at the University of York, where she also did her undergraduate and masters’ degrees. Katie is a keen singer and has previously sung under Robert Hollingworth, Stephen Layton, and Richard Pinel.

Katie also loves to spend her time travelling to European cities, cooking, reading, and, when the weather permits, running.

Katie will start in December 2021, working in close collaboration with Tom Hammond-Davies, Founder and Artistic Director, and providing Oxford Bach Soloists with sustainable, significant operational direction.

As General Manager, Katie will be responsible for establishing new relationships with donors, festivals, and venues, pursuing recording and touring opportunities and overseeing all operations for the ensemble. She will also be involved in all areas of the charity’s work including finance and company management, domestic and international touring (sales, logistics and delivery), recordings, strategic development, education and fundraising.

Katie is taking over the role from Flynn Le Brocq, who has been appointed Chief Executive of the London Mozart Players.

Katie said: “I am overwhelmingly delighted to be joining the team at OBS as General Manager. I look forward to carrying on Flynn’s excellent work and diving back into the world of live concerts with such an exciting group. I am particularly excited about the next concert in the Brandenburg 300 series on Sunday 9 January – a wonderful way to start the new year!”

Tom Hammond-Davies, Artistic Director of the Oxford Bach Soloists said: “We are all delighted to be joined by someone of Katie’s experience and skills. She is the perfect fit for us. We are excited for her to build upon Flynn Le Brocq’s successes and lead us into the future. Her varied career across arts management, retail and finance, speaks to our ambitious plans for growing new audiences, widening our reach, and sharing the wonders of Bach with the world.”
